Turning well-meaning into good-doing

When someone you love becomes seriously ill everything turns upside-down… not to mention the chores, tasks and everyday activities that were previously completed on autopilot can become impossible to manage.

And while acquaintances may genuinely want to ease the stress, there are only so many casseroles and fruit baskets that one family can handle.

Enter, StandWith, a care management app and the brainchild of Yael Cohen, founder of Fuck Cancer .

With her experience with her mother’s cancer as a motivating force, Cohen set about to create a more streamlined and organised way of receiving assistance that helps seamlessly coordinate the type of care patients actually need.

Using social media as a conduit, StandWith is a task-oriented app that puts peoples good intentions to good use. Whether it’s walking the dog, or picking up a few things at the supermarket, these little things can make a big difference.

StandWith has just launched in beta, and will be available to the general public later in the year. Read more at FastCompany.com or sign up for updates at launch.StandWith.com
